Scandinavian Expedition Details

Does the idea of canoeing through one of northern Europe’s largest river and lake systems, following a historic logging route inspire you?  The Harken River System in northern Sweden is a true adventure, combining everything that a great expedition should include. Canoeing along a magical white water river and lake system, portaging waterfalls, camping at night in some of the most idyllic spots, all while taking in the historic beauty of this stunning area.

This is a true expedition, one that is the step beyond being just a client – in this trip you will be an active expedition team member. You will have the opportunity to sit back and relax, enjoy the stunning scenery around a campfire.

During the expedition you will get expertly guided, by one of Seattle Adventure Sports expedition instructors, who will not only ensure you have a great time, they will coach you in your canoeing, expedition skills and in bushcraft / wilderness living techniques. THIS is an expedition of a life time.

While some canoeing experience is advantageous to take part in this expedition, nothing other than some basic fitness and a desire be active is really needed

Into the Expedition

This expedition is based in the Pacific North West and sets out to allow you to access places that most people rarely experience. Travelling by canoe and foot, you will learn everything you could ever need to about expeditioning, all in the context of an expedition!

Throughout this intensive week, you will transport everything you need to live comfortably in the great outdoors and get high quality instruction from one of Seattle Adventure Sports most experienced expedition facilitators. The expedition will move at a pace that ensures ground is covered, learning is deeply present and yet time for enjoying the beauty of the Pacific North West is found.
